Polish translation of World of Patterns was published

The Polish translation of World of Patterns was published by PWN and presented at the World Copernican Congress in Torun. This congress, which celebrated the 550th birthday of Copernicus, was one of the most pleasant meetings I've ever been to. It was full of concerts, excursions, wonderful dinners, and of course great talks. The photo shows me signing the book.

12 December 2023: Lecture at VUB Brussels: "What kind of knowledge is the pursuit of meaning?"

On 12 December at 16.15h, I will give a talk at the KIIP seminar entitled "What kind of knowledge is the pursuit of meaning?". In this talk I will present a longue durée exploration of meaning-making from a global perspective. I argue that a total of 185 distinct meaning-making practices can be discerned that can be grouped into 30 themes. I discuss a number of general patterns and principles that can be found in meaning-making practices across the world and will go into the question as to what kind of knowledge meaning-making actually is. 14-15 November 2023: Online Workshop "Epistemic Transfer in the Humanities"

On 14 November I will give a brief presentation to introduce the workshop on Epistemic Transfer in the History of the Humanities.
