The hallowed opposition between the sciences and the humanities


It remains surprising how stubbornly most humanists as well as scientists stick to the hallowed opposition between the sciences (mathematical, experimental, dominated by universal laws) and the humanities (allegedly concerned with unique events and hermeneutic methods).
